I have a game scheduled to be played on Warhammer TV come May, and of course a new army was the way to go, choosing something less played I settled on between the Free Peoples of the Living City alleigance from Firestorm (Mix of Free people, Dwarfs, Wanderers and Sylvaneth)

I started these about 2 weeks ago and hopefully a full 2k army will be showable by the end of this ūüôā¬†

The panzerparrot is very impressive. And great idea with the Derpthu. The scale seems just right (in over-the-top way, if that makes any sense). Can't wait to see more.

So, a critical decision was made-  the final allegiance of the project is set in stone.
"Greywater Fastness" A city in The Realm of Life built around realm-stone powered technology and situated around a realmgate that is being mined for its resources.

The units chosen where a mix of flat out what I had available, and what I thought was less used units to show off units people wouldn't usually en masse. (As opposed to the massed handgunners/crossbows you usually see a Freeguild pump out)

The Following is the final list composition-

Allegiance: Greywater Fastness
Mortal Realm: Ghyran
Gunmaster (80)
Freeguild General on Griffon (260)
- Shield & Greathammer
- Artefact: Ghyrstrike
Freeguild General (100)
- General
- Shield & Sigmarite Weapon
- Trait: Inspiring
Freeguild General (100)
- Shield & Sigmarite Weapon
- Horse
-Stately War Banner

10 x Freeguild Crossbowmen (100)
30 x Freeguild Archers (300)
10 x Freeguild Handgunners (100)
40 x Freeguild Guard (280)
- Halberds and Shields
6 x Demigryph Knights (280)
- Lance and Sword
3 x Demigryph Knights (140)
- Lance and Sword
Helblaster Volley Gun (120)
Helblaster Volley Gun (120)

Total: 1980 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 162

So, where is our starting point?

Lots and lots of updating and rebasing.

1

This is the large majority of the list, built and about 1/4 painted to standard/colour scheme that is required.

2

The Guards are the Old Brettonian Men at Arms, some small weapon swaps will be done, replacing 10 old sword/shields with Halberds to bring the unit up to full size.

3

The True General/Warlord of the Army, June 2009 Empire Captain with Sword and Shield, a lovely pose I couldn't resist putting him in!

6

The first 3 of 9 Demigryphs, since they aren't available right now at time of posting I have ordered 6 Stormcast Vanguard Palladors to bash into demigyphs, here's to hoping the size difference isn't completely out of order!

Also the King Louen from Brettonia stars as the "General on Horse" who will certainly be leading the Gryphs from the front, with his original banner serving as the stately war banner. (once its fixed up a bit)

A small update, the Palladors have arrived and a very modest kit bash/reposing of the Empire Order Knights legs was started to make them fit on the big stormcast saddles.

Not knowing how big palladors where I am quite happy that they still fit in decently with the other ones (To me!)

I can't wait to see them done. I'm finding the Free Peoples relatively close to my heart, I still think that them, the Ironweld Arsenal and the Dispossessed belong together in AoS.

That's the beauty of the different free cities alleigance! We can take the best of all of them with decent-ish benefits to boot!

A very small burst of productivity, 3 of the normal Demigryphs have been painted to match the Gryphon General, with the foot troops army colours ( Old Fantasy  Nordland Scheme)  on their saddles decoration, no clue if the riders will cover that up but oh well!

The handgunners uniforms have all been base painted with the blues/yellows also, but this is not picture worthy yet, but it is in the background above!

They look fierce. No wonder there's a stable boy in the back, with a rifle.

Infrequent update I know, however I finally have actual progress to report on, after a while of distractions ūüôā¬†

A decent amount of rebasing of the old fantasy stuff has been redone, and some new stuff has been finished.

IMG 1015

The full board shot of what is done so far!

IMG 1018

Unit of 10 Handgunners and 2 artillery crew all finished up.

IMG 1020

A Brettonian Damsel being used as a Jade Battlemage, alongside the rebased brettonian men-at-arms who are now freeguild (With the cobblestone bases I've wanted to do forever, and have only just found an incredibly cheap supplier of them!)

IMG 1017

Alas I did not paint the banner in my unit, but I still like to show the lovely freehand someone has done on it.

I am aware the bases do not fit the trays, and need a tiny bit of cleaning up, I will be giving them a good go around before they're used

The main body of a Helblaster is done! However it only has one wheel and I couldn't find another, so it doesn't look complete.

IMG 1027

So we decided, we're based in a city so lets have it be down for some maintenance!

IMG 1029

As i'm a cheapskate, I took some sprue and cut it up into small blocks to represent bricks or wood (Decision not yet made) upon which the helblasted would be mounted

IMG 1031

We needed a little guy to be doing some maintenance, so we cut up a freeguild archer and gave him a set of arms that could be more positioned to doing something other then firing a bow.

IMG 1032

The final concept for the idea, all to be put on 1 base (Don't think people will mind an extra unremovable crew member simply for looks)
